With over 25 years in the Electronic and IT services industry assisting many clients from the large corporate, multi-national sector, through to the ever growing Small to Medium Enterprise (SME) one thing has become more and more apparent - Clients reliance on their IT Business Solutions is growing at a rate that few in our industry ever expected.
With this came the associated overhead of maintaining these solutions, a lack of experienced IT Systems Engineers and a huge influx of "Nasties" set on destroying this key investment made by so many businesses.
The good news was many of the major product and hardware vendors were continually releasing updates to counter these threats. However due to the fact that everyday there are new vulnerabilities being released on a scale like never before, it became a continuing battle to keep the organisations' systems up to date let alone cater for the daily administrative requirements.
In addition to this many business owners weren't aware of the impact and associated risk to their core systems that this was having let alone what needed to be done to protect them.
Now days to counter these threats many organisations are facing new industry compliance changes to the way they do business and protect their IT assets, so the plot (and associated costs) thickens.
As a Senior Systems Engineer, it became apparent that the growth in this industry would continue at a rate that was difficult, at the best of times to keep up with, when you're continually at the coal face reactively fixing and maintaining these precious systems.
The delta Initiative...
As such the concept of assisting my fellow System Engineers, Sys Admins and Service Providers in obtaining the information so vital to protecting and maintaining these systems, would promote delivering a better proactive service and IT systems delivery, and reduce much of the stress and hours associated with performing these tasks.
This became our primary focus and so was born the delta Initiative....
Systems Monitoring...
The concept of monitoring a business solution was not new, however many of the systems available required a large amount of expertise and time to manage to deliver any real benefit.
In addition to this the associated costs and infrastructure required placed these solutions outside the reach of many organisations that really required these services.
As such we embarked on a mission to find partners that had the necessary tools that would cater for a centralised model that we could deliver from an enterprise level data centre alleviating this initial capital outlay and technical expertise for many companies.
This also promotes an environment where the partners focused on doing "what they do well" allowing us to focus on creating a cost effective managed solution that was able to scale from the single server, small number of workstations to the enterprise level corporate sector.
