Just another day in the office... What Delta does to help with cyber attacks

Cyber attacks, malicious malware, et cetera are so common that they are almost deemed normal in the IT world today and they are not going away, rather they are getting better, faster and stronger causing havoc on our networks. The main thing about these attacks though is to be able to identify and manage them early enough to avoid been taken over!

M.O.T.H.E.R is the managed framework we used to achieve this with great results

What can you do...
While these can be scary times for cyber threats you can minimise your exposure by simply:

  • installing an antivirus program
  • update your antivirus program regularly
  • resist the temptation to open every email and text that comes your way
  • change your password regularly
  • let Delta manage these for you

A look back to 2012 and into 2013...

In the past year there was a real explosion in malware on smart phones, with more in 2012 than in the seven years combined before that. More than 90% of that malware is malicious software that is used to gain access to or used to disrupt your system. This is likely to continue and worsen with a focus on android devices with a high probability of the first appearance of a mass worm spreading itself through text messages in 2013.
The potential exists for attacks like these to target Internet banking services that send mobile transaction authentication numbers via text.

On another note...
As the popularity of using the cloud to store information grows so too will security threats and if the cloud provider is breached then a hacker will have access to thousands of people's private information in one hit, referred to as "hyper jacking".

Managed Services is the difference in today's IT world...

Why Managed Services?
Managed service providers are an extension of your IT department where they assume ongoing responsibility for monitoring, managing and/or problem resolution for selected IT systems and functions on your behalf. Managed service providers can offer services such as Alerts, security, patch management, data backup and recovery for different client devices: Desktops, notebooks, servers, storage systems, networks and applications

Outsourcing routine infrastructure management and experienced managed services provider lets you and your team concentrate on what you do best - running your business with fewer interruptions due to IT issues.

This is why Delta started...
  • To provide fully managed services to the IT industry so we can stand beside your IT team and work collaboratively keep your IT systems running efficiently and effectively 24/7.
  • To help with ongoing projects ensuring that they go smoothly by catching the things that go wrong and managing them to resolution before they cause harm during the project.
  • Take care of cyber attacks and malicious malware to protect your systems.

Why you should care?
Because businesses need technology to operate efficiently and to compete effectively. As reliance on IT grows the resources to support an increasingly complex IT environment may not in many businesses, IT resources can quickly be overwhelmed with the day-to-day responsibilities of keeping your IT infrastructure that the business depends on up and running. If you fall behind in keeping up with things such as backups, patches and security the odds are that you will face an IT outage or another problem later on that will negatively impact your business resulting in substantial productivity and revenue losses. By having your systems proactively maintained, monitored and managed disasters can be greatly reduced and many technology problems avoided, resulting in your IT staff being freed up to focus on higher valued projects.
